Arrival

Today, I arrived in Santiago, Chile. I am here for 3 days, and then I go to meet my host family. After lunch, the ISA students met up for an orientation. We learned some of the cultural differences we would have to get used to while being in Chile. For example, two people greet each other with a kiss on the cheek, most homes do not have central heating, and you need to light the "calefont" to get hot water in the shower. We also learned about the Chilean accent and how to prevent pick pocketing which is extremely common in Chile. Nonetheless, we were all excited for our first day in Chile. We learned later that our next stop was going to be one of the many hills in Chile, Cerro San Cristóbal.
