Today was my tour of Viña del Mar. First, we went to Las Dunas de Concón, which are sand dunes in Concón. Technically, it is not in Viña del Mar, but it is right outside of it. The dunes were really cool, but it felt odd having a place that seems like the dessert literally across the street from a city. It turns out that many people tried to get rid of the dunes to build businesses and/or more homes. As many of the sand dunes were already destroyed, a law was passed to protect the dunes. In the summer, many locals go sand boarding down the dunes.
Later in the day, we went to La Quinta Vergara. This is a large park in Viña del Mar. One of its most distinguishing features is an amphitheater which is used by famous performers and singers.
