Cerro Alegre and the Farewell Dinner

Last week was a pretty normal week and now everything is coming to a close. Realizing that we didn't have too much time left in Chile, a couple friends and I decided to explore Cerro Alegre, one of the many hills in Valparaíso, before the farewell dinner that the ISA program set up for its students. Cerro Alegre is one of the more cultural hills of Valpo with colorful houses and street art on many of its buildings. There is also a candy store called the Dulcería. If you don't know how to get there, search the sidewalk for a painting of white ants. If you follow the ants, they will lead you right to the front door of the candy shop. We went inside and got to see them making the small hard candies that they sell. We even got to taste some of them. It was interesting to be eating the product as we were watching it be made. After this, we walked the streets to shop.

After we were done sightseeing and shopping around, we headed for El Internado, the restaurant that was hosting our farewell dinner. It was really nice having a final meal with the students we have been with for the last 5 weeks. It was also sad knowing that we would likely not see each other again, but we were all so glad that we were fortunate enough to have this wonderful experience.
